early.

so this happened.
i am beyond excited.

my day started off at 3:30 am. to leave at 4:30 a.m. to be at the hospital by 5 a.m. to attend the first surgery.
i was lucky enough to receive a capstone in the cath lab.
basically i'll be helping and watching a lot of things with the heart to sum it up.

by 7:30 a.m.
i had already watched a implantable cardioverter defibrillator battery change.
which consisted of the smell of burning flesh due to the technique of cauterization.
so good thing i never ate breakfast that morning.

i was also able to see a left heart catheterizaiton.
with this procedure we were able to identify a blockage of the heart arteries
and was also able to watch a stent be placed to fix it.

by this time my mind was blown a million times over.
i had experienced so much is just a short amount of time.
i knew i was in love.
the staff was amazing to me.
it was seriously one of the best days of my student nursing career.

i can not wait for another day in the cath lab.
pretty sure my heart is falling in love with cardiology.
